Maang tikka

A maang tikka is the piece that finishes a bridal look, and the one most often bought last and in a hurry. Ours range from a single fine chain with a small pendant, worn with everyday festive wear, to a double-chain matha patti heavy enough to hold its own against a lehenga.

The hook matters more than the design. Every tikka here uses a wide, flattened hair hook rather than the thin wire that comes on cheaper pieces — it sits into the parting and holds through an evening without a pin, and without pulling at the hair when it comes off.

Chain lengths are adjustable at the hook end, so the pendant can be raised or dropped to sit where the parting actually falls. The measurement on each product page is the maximum length.
